Arthur Lieber has been an educator in the St. Louis Metropolitan area for forty-five years. He taught in the St. Louis Public Schools and later in private and alternative schools. In 1974, he was a co-founder of Crossroads School (now Crossroads College Preparatory School), the sole non-sectarian private school in the city of St. Louis. He was director of the school for fifteen years. In 1991 he co-founded Civitas Associates, a non-profit organization the provides enrichment experiences for students throughout the metropolitan area to strengthen their critical thinking skills through the study of international relations, human rights issues, and urban studies. In 2010, he was the Democratic candidate for Missouri’s 2nd Congressional District.
For fun, Arthur is an avid Cardinal fan, reads a great deal, and writes for the Occasional Planet blog.
